Don Hutchison makes big claim about Arsenal star Bukayo Saka

Don Hutchison has told that Arsenal should give Bukayo Saka the captain’s armband as his importance continues to grow under Mikel Arteta at The Emirates – following his goal against West Brom on Saturday.

Four-time England international Saka, 19, has been sensational in recent matches. He has had a hand in three goals during Arsenal’s last three Premier League outings – scoring goals against Chelsea and West Brom, while creating one at Brighton.

Being used on the left or the right, Saka has been one of Arsenal’s most-consistent performers this season. Despite the Gunners poor form during the early stages of the season, Saka continued to win plaudits – along with Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding.

Hutchison has commented on Saka after analysing Arsenal’s 4-0 victory, and stated that Arteta might as well hand the left-footed sensation should just be handed the captain’s armband – having initially joined Arsenal as a seven-year-old in 2008.

“The man of the moment Saka,” Hutchison said on Saka, who has three goals this season. “He is playing out of his skin, so much confidence, pace, goals. He’s leading the way.

“Might as well give him the captain’s armband because he is that important to Arsenal. Him and Tierney have stuck their hands up when others have struggled, they’ve been brilliant.”

TBR’s view – Saka should get captaincy, but not yet

Saka is a top, top player, showing enormous potential. He has the perfect connection with Arsenal supporters, he has come through the ranks at the club and is clearly one of Arsenal’s most-important players. If he was 29, he would be captain.

But he is still only 19 and while he has played 62 times for Arsenal, he is still inexperienced. Let him get to 150, 200 appearances for the club and then hand him the armband at the age of say 23. Then, he can cope with the pressure of the armband.
