Don Hutchison feels sorry for Tottenham’s Lucas Moura
Former Premier League midfielder Don Hutchison has said he feels sorry for Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura, after the Brazilian was again left on the bench against Brighton at the weekend.
Mauricio Pochettino ignored the growing calls to start the £23 million signing from Paris Saint-Germain (), instead choosing Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Heung-min Son.

Moura enjoyed a great pre-season with Spurs, but that encouraging form has been rewarded with just three starts in all competitions so far.
A large section of the Spurs support are having trouble understanding why he is featuring less than Eriksen, who has been criticised by some for ‘downing tools’ due to his contract situation.
In the eyes of Hutchison, the 27-year-old should be playing more.

, he said: “The camera kept panning on Lucas Moura and I felt so sorry for him – what more can he do?
“Every time he comes on the pitch and every time he starts, he’s a gamechanger. I just wonder at what point does he think about saying ‘I’ve had it here. My time is done’. Maybe it might be in the summer where he puts a transfer request in, because he is too good for Tottenham at the moment to be left on the bench.”
TBR’s view
Hutchison has a point to be fair – Moura is generally always a positive influence when he comes on in games for the north Londoners.

He certainly should be starting more games than he currently is – the form of Eriksen has not been good enough and he probably should be the one to make way, with Lamela having been a fairly bright spark, and Heung-min Son really in the Harry Kane bracket in terms on being ‘undroppable’.
