Dominic Solanke shares how he really feels about playing with Heung-Min Son at Tottenham

Dominic Solanke hasn’t had the easiest of starts to life at Tottenham Hotspur.

Expectations were high when Solanke arrived at Tottenham as a club-record signing in the summer, and, as of yet, he’s not really hit the heights expected of him.

Indeed, Ange Postecoglou was very excited about Solanke when he signed, but he’s not necessarily come up with the goods this season.

Despite joining a bigger club, Solanke’s goalscoring stats have gone backwards this year.

Of course, Solanke is only just settling in at Spurs and starting to get to know his teammates.

The England international has only been in north London for a few months, but he’s already a massive fan of Heung-Min Son.

Indeed, speaking to the Premier League, Solanke says that Son is a brilliant player and he loves playing with his captain.

Solanke loves playing with Heung-Min Son

Solanke spoke about what it’s like to play alongside Son.

Solanke has praised Son’s finishing ability in the past, and now, he’s hailed the Spurs captain’s all-round game.

“What has Son been like to play with so far?

“Yeah, incredible, it’s everything you see to be honest. His talent, both feet, his confidence, dribbling ability there, his leadership, he has everything. It’s a joy to be around him and I’m looking forward to carrying on playing with him. His finishing is elite, so I think we’ll see more of these for sure,” Solanke said.

Solanke’s record alongside Heung-Min Son

Solanke says that he loves working alongside Son, but these two haven’t quite struck up a brilliant on-field partnership as of yet.

Solanke’s predecessor, Harry Kane, had an incredible partnership with Son.

Kane loved playing with Son, and that was reflected in the statistics, as no Premier League pair has ever combined for more goals.

However, Solanke and Son seemingly don’t have that sort of partnership, at least not yet.

Solanke and Son are yet to provide an assist for one another this season, and that is rather worrying.

Son used to love setting Kane up, while Solanke got his fair share of assists at Bournemouth, setting up seven goals in the 2022/23 season.

Solanke says that he really likes working with Son, so, hopefully, we get to see this partnership flourish on the pitch soon.
