‘Doesn’t look interested’… Celtic fans are seriously worried about 28-year-old player this season
The Celtic fans have every right to be worried about their club after watching that dismal performance against Hearts yesterday.
The 2-0 defeat means Brendan Rodgers has now dropped 12 points this season which is really alarming considering Celtic only dropped 15 in the whole of last season.
And to think that was the kind of form required to win a treble as well. But that’s not the only thing that’s concerning the Celtic fans.
The Hoops support is now starting to form a verdict on Kyogo Furuhashi after the Celtic striker has now failed to score in 17 of Celtic’s 25 games in total this season. []
This is an alarming statistic and one that has raised concerns from the supporters that all is not well with their Japanese talisman.
Celtic fans believe Kyogo Furuhashi looks disinterested right now
Taking to social media channel , the Hoops support expressed their feelings after witnessing Kyogo failing to score against Hearts despite having two great chances to hit the back of the net.
And whilst the panic button has been fully pressed with how the team are playing under Brendan Rodgers, the fans are now starting to share serious concerns about their former Player of the Year.
One fan seemed to suggest that the arrival of Luis Palma has something to do with Kyogo’s form, “Something not right in the dressing room, since Palma arrived Kyogo has not been the same.”
Another believes that Kyogo is not blameless himself, “I’m suggesting Kyogo has to share a huge portion of blame as to why he is missing chances that arise.
“His goal-scoring rate isn’t that of a first-choice striker currently.”
Another fan shared that view but is open to being proven wrong, “My gut instinct is that Kyogo isn’t an innocent victim in his underperformance … however I genuinely could be wrong and I’m open to that.”
And the most damning and worrying claim is this one, “He doesn’t look interested but certain fans will blame everyone else but Kyogo.”
Brendan Rodgers’ verdict on Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi
Brendan Rodgers spoke this week and he gave his own reasons for Kyogo’s drop in form. The Celtic manager denied that the Japanese striker has been asked to play a new role in the team and believes that that he needs to start playing to his strengths.
Rodgers said [], “We went through his video stuff the other week. We looked primarily at the fact I don’t need him dropping in so much. When you’re playing in a lot of games where teams are sat deep, you don’t get a kick of the ball really unless it comes into the box.

“So what do you do? You start wandering. His strength is his penetration. That’s his strength, running in behind and timing his runs. You have to make 10 runs maybe to only get in once but that’s your job as a striker.
“So there’s been nothing changed in that. There’s been absolutely nothing different asked of him because his strength is playing off the last line, timing his movements and being instinctive in the box.”
So if that’s the case, then what’s happened to Kyogo? If he’s not been asked to play a new role is he going against what Rodgers has asked him to do?
I genuinely can’t see that but Rodgers needs to do one thing and fast. Get Kyogo and this team firing on all cylinders as this league title and £60m worth of Champions League cash could soon be out of their grasp and in the coffers of the Ibrox club.
