Marc Albrighton predicts how Leicester fans will treat James Maddison when he plays for Tottenham
Tottenham midfielder James Maddison makes his return to Leicester tonight and it remains to be seen how the home fans will react.
Maddison left the Foxes to join Tottenham for around £40m following their relegation to the Championship.
Since then, he has become a key figure at Spurs under Ange Postecoglou. Thankfully for Leicester, they didn’t miss him too much and won promotion at the first attempt.
Still, Maddison returning to The King Power is a nice sub-plot and he’ll be desperate to do well.
However, whether he gets a good reception from the home crowd is open to debate and one of his former teammates, Marc Albrighton, has suggested it could go either way.

Marc Albrighton unsure how Leicester fans will react to James Maddison’s return with Tottenham
Speaking on this morning, former Leicester winger Albrighton admitted he wasn’t too sure if the midfielder would be well-received by the Foxes fans.
“Mixed, I think. Do you know what? If we can remember the things he has done for the club, obviously, the FA Cup win was crucial, he was brilliant that season, and he scored some really important goals for the club.
” When he was there, he gave everything for the shirt, so I think it’s important that the club and the fans remember those times and hopefully he will get a warm reception.
“But I am not too sure.”
Maddison didn’t do much wrong at Leicester
At the end of the day, Leicester had to sell someone when they got relegated and James Maddison was never going to stick around.
It got the club good money and it got Maddison a good move to a top club where he’s since excelled.
Ange Postecoglou has suggested a lack of fitness through injuries hindered Maddison at times last season and the England man will want to come out all guns blazing tonight.
Lauded as a ‘maverick’ talent by Jamie O’Hara, Maddison could actually hold the key to them winning tonight.
And if they do take three points, then Maddison will care little about the reception he gets.
