Do Leicester City deserve to win the Premier League for these reasons?
I became an Arsenal fan just after they won their last Premier League title. At this point I didn’t know too much about football but I thought The Gunners would keep winning the Premier League for years to come. Twelve years later and the wait goes on. All the pundits keep saying that Wenger and Arsenal simply have to win the league this year, but we have heard it this before. What does have novelty however, is a team like Leicester; who were almost certainties to be relegated in the 2014/15 season, turning it around to be on course to win the Premier League in the following season.
Read on to discover the five reasons that I believe make Leicester City deserved winners of English football’s top domestic prize.
They are the most consistent team this season
People don’t seem to realise that Leicester have only lost two games this season and these were against Arsenal and Liverpool. Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal; the other teams currently in the top four, have lost 13 games between them so far in the 2015/16 season. Every time The Foxes have a supposedly “difficult run of fixtures”, they come out of it unscathed and with their title hopes still intact. They are equal with Manchester City on nine clean sheets so far this season and they last lost a match on Boxing Day 2015. How much longer are people going to keep writing Leicester off? They are proving everybody wrong time and time again.
