Diogo Jota says he’d love Liverpool to sign £43m midfielder

Liverpool have one of the best midfield units in the Premier League right now.

Indeed, Ryan Gravenberch has been transformed this season, while Alexis Mac Allister has been fantastic as usual.

Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Dominik Szoboszlai have all played their parts as well.

However, according to Diogo Jota, there’s another midfielder he’d like to see sign for Liverpool.

Indeed, speaking to ESPN, Jota was asked which player from a rival club he’d like to see sign for Liverpool.

Jota didn’t hesitate when giving his answer, naming Bernardo Silva as the player he’d want to bring to Anfield.

Jota and Silva, of course, have played plenty of football together on the international level.

Diogo Jota would love Liverpool to sign Bernardo Silva

Jota was asked which player from a rival club he’d like Liverpool to sign.

The striker said that he’d love to see Bernardo Silva at Anfield, describing the £43m man as a very special and outstanding footballer.

“Which player from a rival club would you like to see sign for Liverpool?

“For me, it’s Bernardo Silva. He’s very clever and he’s an outstanding player,” Jota said.

What Bernardo Silva has said about Liverpool

Jota says that he’d love to see Silva at Anfield, but, this move is probably very unlikely.

Liverpool very rarely do business with their rival clubs, but Silva does have a soft spot for Liverpool.

Indeed, Silva says he respects Liverpool after their rivalry over so many years.

“I always tend to go to Liverpool because I respect them a lot because of how good they are and how tough it was for us over the years to beat them. So Liverpool players are always the toughest I would say,’ Silva said.

“Who do you prefer to beat, Man United or Liverpool?” Silva was asked.

“As I said, Liverpool were our biggest rivals, I’ve been at Man City for seven years and a few months, and Liverpool were always the toughest, but I like beating Man United as well,” Silva said.

Even though Silva isn’t likely to be Liverpool bound anytime soon, it has to be said that this would be a mouth-watering signing.

Indeed, Silva would be incredible in this high-intensity Liverpool team under Arne Slot, he’d be able to fill into any of the midfield positions and he’d be able to play any of those roles at a very high level.

Luckily for Jota, he still gets the chance to play with Silva for Portugal.
