Diogo Dalot says 19-year-old stunned Manchester United players when he made senior squad

Manchester United may be having a season to forget for the most part, but there have been a few silver linings ahead of next term.

For instance, the Red Devilsꦇ have seen the emergence of two world-class academy players that could go on to be stars for club and country.

Kobbie Mainoo has gone from a relatively unknown young prospect – outside of the Man U♎nited fanbase – to an Old Trafford star and potential England Euro 2024 squ🐎ad gatecrasher.

Meanwhile, Alejandro Garnacho burst into the Red Devils fold last season and has become an important first-team player for Erik ten Hag th🅘is term.

The 19-year-old has ꦅmade 39 competitive appearances for Manꦆ United this season, and 75 altogether. He also has five senior Argentina caps to his name.

Now, Red Devils teammate Diogo Dal𝓀ot has spoken to about Garnacho’s emergence into the first-team.

What has Diogo Dalot said about Manchester United teammate Alejandro Garnacho?

Dalot sought to gi𝔉ve his young colleague some advice about how to keep improving further as a professional footballer.

“When he started to💛 come into the first team, we knew straight away that he had the qualities,” said the Portugal international.

“He just needed to work really hard in traꦓining, then the opportunities will start to come and then it will be up to him to show us teammates and show us as a club that he deserved it.

“I think he’s making a very good season, he needs to know that the exp🍌ectations, the responsibility, the demands will become higher and hig𝓡her when he starts scoring goals, when he starts playing good.

“In the highest level everything will increase, and he has to keep his head 🌳in a good place which I always help him here inside the dressing room. But ultimately it will be up to him i🍸f he wants to reach the top.”

It’s easy to forget that Garnacho is just 19 years of age, considering he’s been in the first team for tw𒆙o seas𒀰ons and has been a regular starter this term, with 75 Man United outings to his name.

Garnacho is still at the start of his journey and impressing for one of the Premier League’s b🍸iggest teams already. No doubt he’ll become a superstar as he continues to develop as a player.

Man United will look to narrow the gap in the Premier League table between themselves and fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur when they face Chelsea ♐at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
