Dimitar Berbatov shares why he thinks Tottenham players want to play for Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham legend Dimitar Berbatov has given his thoughts on just why Tottenham’s players are loving Ange Postecoglou’s management.

Postecoglou saw his players win once again this weekend as they went to Nottingham Forest and picked up another big three points.

Tottenham are flying high in the Premier League and Postecoglou has won plenty of praise for the way he’s turned things around in the white half of north London. Indeed, Gary Neville has even tipped Postecoglou to be on Man City’s radar.

And speaking to over the weekend, former Spurs forward Dimitar Berbatov has explained that there is something about Ange’s manner that just makes players want to play for him.

“There are some people, some coaches/managers that straight away, you take a liking to. And you want to play for them. I want to play for him, if I’m a player. He gives you the sense that you can go and speak to him like ‘boss, I have a problem’,” Berbatov said.

“I think it’s the face, and the voice for me. The way he talks to the media and like this. He looks like the man who knows how to speak with every man differently.”

Ange Postecoglou the great man manager

All the best managers in the history of the game have a way of getting the best out of their players and Ange Postecoglou seems to have that gift.

The Aussie has had such a huge effect on things at Tottenham and it’s quite obvious the players simply love playing for him.

As we saw on Friday night, Tottenham went down to ten men and then still managed to get the result over the line. A lot of that was down to sheer hard work and a will to play for the manager.

Berbatov is a player who knows a top manager when he sees one, having worked under Sir Alex Ferguson and more. Clearly, then, Ange is giving off an aura that his players are following.
