Dimitar Berbatov names Tottenham cult hero as his favourite strike partner
Tottenham Hotspur cult hero Dimitar Berbatov has named fellow Spurs icon Robbie Keane as his favourite ever strike partner.
The Spurs legend, speaking on , named the Irishman over the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.
When asked who his favourite strike partner was, Berbatov replied: “It was probably Robbie Keane because we just struck a great partnership together immediately.”
Keane enjoyed a fruitful career at Tottenham. He made 306 appearances for Spurs, registering 122 goals and 32 assists.
The 68-goal, 146-cap Irishman enjoyed linking up with Berbatov between 2006-2008, and the latter certainly enjoyed playing alongside Keane.

Berbatov and Keane contributed to Tottenham’s last major trophy, the 2008 Carling Cup. The Bulgarian scored from the spot in the final against Chelsea, with Jonathan Woodgate netting the late winner.
Indeed, it says a lot that, despite having played with two of the most highly rated and trophy-laden players of all time in Ronaldo and Rooney, Berbatov picked Keane over them.
Berbatov remains a popular figure among Tottenham fans for his classy and prolific displays at White Hart Lane.
The Bulgarian joined Spurs in May 2006 from Bayer Leverkusen for a £10.9million fee, and he quickly made an impact for the North Londoners.
Berbatov registered 46 goals and 29 assists in for Tottenham, before subsequently moving to Manchester United in 2008 for around £31million.
The 42-year-old played for a host of clubs during his career. Alongside Spurs and Man United, he turned out for the likes of Fulham, Monaco, PAOK, CSKA Sofia and Kerala Blasters.
Berbatov also won caps for Bulgaria, registering 48 goals – making him his nation’s all-time top scorer – and four assists.
