Dietmar Hamann picks player he’d want to replace Mo Salah at Liverpool
which player he would sign if Liverpool were forced to sell Mo Salah amid his comments about his future last week – and chose a Bayern Munich superstar.
Salah, 28, continues to be an integral cog at Liverpool – scoring 16 goals in just 23 appearances this season. But he told that he would never rule out a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future.
The Egyptian does have a contract until 2023 but it remains to be seen if he will sign another deal. His future has been discussed among many pundits this week, and it might have affected his display against Newcastle.
The winger missed numerous golden chances to give Liverpool a win, the two sides drawing 0-0. Hamann was asked to pick any player he would have – regardless of funds – to replace Salah, and he chose Bayern’s Kingsley Coman.

“The best winger out there is Kingsley Coman,” . “He’s had injuries, but he has stayed fit and scored the winner in the CL final. He’s two footed, quick, very clever, great decision making and his finishing has improved.
“Bayern Munich are not interested in losing him and he has made it clear he is happy. If Salah was to move, it will have a knock-on effect, because Liverpool will need to buy someone. Things happen quickly.”
TBR’s view – Coman would be a stunning signing for Liverpool
But there is no chance of getting him. Bayern are arguably the best team in Europe at the moment and Coman is a huge part of that, combining in a front three that also boasts Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry.
They are lethal. This season, Champions League winner Coman is enjoying his best form – having a hand in 14 goals during his 15 games. Coman would be perfect to replace Salah – quick, goals, assists, everything Salah has.
But younger. However, Bayern – while they remain at the top of three domestically and in Europe – will not sell him. And for Coman, he probably won’t want to leave, either.
