Dietmar Hamann backs Liverpool to sign Jadon Sancho next summer

in Germany that Liverpool have a ‘great interest’ in Borussia Dortmund and England winger Jadon Sancho, and expects the Champions League winners to make a move at the end of the season.

Sancho broke into the Dortmund side in 2017-18 before becoming a Dortmund regular the season after. He helped Dortmund push Bayern Munich all the way last season, finishing two points behind Niko Kovac’s side.

The former Manchester City star scored 13 goals and laid on 19 assists as well as becoming a solid part of the England side. He has continued that form this season, scoring his first goals for England – and having a hand in 11 goals in 11 games this term.

Former Liverpool star Hamann, who works as a pundit in Germany for Sky, has claimed that sources have informed him that Liverpool are very interested in raiding Jurgen Klopp’s old side Dortmund for Sancho – next summer.

“What I hear is that Liverpool has great interest. I would imagine that next summer they could become one of the biggest interested parties,”

TBR’s view – Sancho would be an incredible signing for Liverpool

The only players that stand a chance of breaking into Liverpool’s front three right now are players with the quality of the front three, but with age on their side. Sancho is the ideal candidate.

Sancho is valued in the region of £100million and such a transfer would make the teenager the sixth most expensive player, behind Philippe Coutinho, Neymar, Joao Felix, Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe.

But for such a figure, Liverpool would be making a long-term investment and it would eventually prove value for money.
