Diego Laxalt is excited to reunite with Olivier Ntcham at Celtic, hails his ability

Diego Laxalt has explained that he can’t wait to play with Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham, after he completed a move to Parkhead on deadline day on a season-long loan from AC Milan.

The Bhoys confirmed () on Monday evening that 27-year-old star Laxalt has joined them on loan until the end of the campaign.

Laxalt has made a temporary switch to the Scottish giants in pursuit of regular first-team minutes and is a high-profile addition.

The Uruguay international was an important player for his national side back in the 2018 World Cup, plus he’s very experienced in Italy with 170 Serie A appearances.

He is a left-sided player that can play as a full-back or a winger, which is why he could suit Neil Lennon’s system at Celtic of using wing-backs.

Laxalt has claimed he is looking forward to lining up alongside Ntcham, who was a former teammate when the pair overlapped at Genoa.

“I’m very happy to share again new memories with Olivier. I spent a lot of time with Olivier at Genoa when we played there together, and he’s an extremely good player and a good person as well. So I’m very happy and I’m looking forward to playing with him again,”

Celtic managed to pull off a late deal in the window to bring in Laxalt and he’s certainly a big boost to the squad, who are hunting down a 10th consecutive league title.

The South American hasn’t been able to nail down a regular starting position at Milan, but on his day’s he a real attacking threat with his pace and creativity in wide areas.

It looks like he could be a real hit in the Scottish division and he will add some much-needed experience in European competitions as well.
