Did Tottenham have their Christian Eriksen replacement all along?
Tottenham Hotspur moved up to fifth in the Premier League table after beating Burnley 1-0 at Turf Moor.
Jose Mourinho’s side bounced back from the disappointment of conceding three late goals to West Ham last weekend to take maximum points in Lancashire to get to within three of league leaders Everton.
The Clarets were perhaps a little unlucky not to come away with a point having defended well and having had some good opportunities.

But it was the classic combination for Spurs which came in clutch once again – Harry Kane setting up winger Heung-min Son to score with his head.
That was the South Korean’s eighth Premier League goal of the season, and the seventh time Kane has laid on the assist.
It truly is remarkable to see Kane providing such a creative spark, and it very much seems like Mourinho had an indirect replacement for Christian Eriksen all along.
TBR’s View – Kane Spurs’ new assist king
Although he wasn’t in great form at the time of his departure in January, Eriksen’s creativity was still supposed to be a big miss for the north Londoners.

But so far in 2020/21, Tottenham have had no issues creating chances and scoring goals.
They are currently the most prolific Premier League side with 16 goals in six games and England captain Kane has been utterly sensational.
His new knack of dropping deep to collect the ball and unleash Son is a tactic that few teams have had an answer for so far, and something that is helping massively with Eriksen no longer around.
Of course, he remains a world-class goalscorer but it’s brilliant for Spurs that Kane now appears to have brought his creative qualities to the same kind of level.
