Destiny Udogie and Brennan Johnson left amazed by 23-year-old Tottenham player vs Newcastle

Destiny Udogie and Brennan Johnson have both sent messages to Dejan Kulusevski on social media following a brilliant display for Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Tottenham earned a vital three points yesterday as they thrashed Newcastle United 4-1 in North London.

Ange Postecoglou’s men were coming off a run of five games without a win in the Premier League after taking the lead each time.

Spurs once again enjoyed a brilliant start yesterday as Son Heung-Min set up Destiny Udogie for their opener. But this time around, they built on a promising start and grabbed three goals before a late Joelinton consolation.

Dejan Kulusevski has emerged as a surprise replacement for James Maddison in midfield over the past couple of weeks.

The Swede started in the advanced midfield role against Aston Villa and Manchester City but moved back out wide in the 2-1 defeat to West Ham.

He came back into the middle of the park yesterday as Richarlison was given the nod to lead the line and it’s fair to say Kulusevski put in an impressive display.

Johnson and Udogie amazed by Kulusevski display

Kulusevski took to after yesterday’s emphatic win over the Magpies and posted a series of pictures of himself in action.

Micky van de Ven labelled the Swede a ‘top player’ beneath the post.

Udogie also replied “What a player,” while Brennan Johnson simply commented “Batman.”

Johnson’s reference is likely down to the fact that Kulusevski was forced to wear a protective mask yesterday after suffering a broken nose in the game against West Ham.

Kulusevski has stepped up in recent weeks, despite some disappointing results for Tottenham.

The winger has managed two goals and an assist in his last six appearances in the league.

He seems to be enjoying his new role in Postecoglou’s side and was a real threat for Spurs yesterday. The 23-year-old has already stated that he believes he can fill the void left by Maddison

While the former Juventus man offers a different kind of profile in midfield, he does provide creativity and was unfortunate not to grab at least once assist yesterday.
