Derek Ferguson has seemingly suggested that Lewis Ferguson should ignore interest from Rangers that Aberdeen is the perfect place for the Ibrox-linked midfielder’s development.

A move to Rangers would see the 20-year-old follow in his father’s and uncle’s footsteps by playing for the club. But interestingly, the former appears to have suggested that he would be better off staying at Pittodrie for the time-being.
“I’ve heard nothing. All I can say is that he’s really happy up there at the moment,” .
“The coaching staff have been absolutely top drawer, not just Derek McInnes but the guys in the background.
“He’s well looked after and if we are talking about development there’s no better place than where he is.”
It is probably not surprising that Ferguson’s dad has made these comments. He is perhaps wary of rocking the boat and causing his son any issues with his current club.
And he is probably also aware that the Scotland under-21 international is much more likely to play regularly for the Dons.
Rangers have a fantastic group of midfield options. And even if Kamara goes, Steven Gerrard may not struggle to find another combination to put his faith in.
With the transfer window some time away, and no guarantees that Kamara will leave anytime soon, it arguably makes a lot of sense for Ferguson to play down the speculation.
