Dennis Bergkamp comments on current Arsenal side, says ‘it hurts’ to watch them

Dennis Bergkamp has told Ian Wright on the latter’s that ‘it hurts’ to watch Arsenal struggle to match the ‘Invincibles’ era that saw the likes of Bergkam𝔉p, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry shine.

The Gunners have won just three FA Cups in💎 the last decade, failing to win the Premier League since 2004. Unai Emery’s side currently sit in third place in the Premier League, but the Gunners remain nine points behind Liverpool.

Arsenal will be aiming to finish in the top-four places of the Premier League come May, but are not expected to rival the likes of Man City and Liverpool for the ♌Premier League title – with last season the two sides proving to be streets ahead of the rest.

Gunners legend Bergkamp has claimed “it hurts” to watch how far Arsenal have fallen from the side that went 49 Premie♛r League matches unbeaten, from May 2003 to October 2004. Bergkamp feels Arsenal should be doing better.

“It’s different to what I am used to, with a less English players and more foreign players,” . “Sometimes it’s good, but sometimes yoꦑu don’t feel it is the Arsenal as we know it. Is it better or worse? Better is shown in trophies.

“On one hand, there are so many clubs that have improved so quickly, whereas Arsenaꦕl have improved but not to that level. It hurts. You feel that Arsenal should do better.”

TBR’s view – Bergkamp is right, but Arsenal need financial backing

Indeed, the Gunners are some way below the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City at the moment – proꦕven by Liverpool’s comfortable 3-1 win over Arsenal earlier this season at Anfield.

If the Gunners are to get back on a level page with the country’s best, they need to spend big on the right players – making their own vers💝ion of the Invincibles side by bringing in some more English talent.
