‘Delightful’: Gary Lineker lauds Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish after England display

Former England striker, Gary Lineker, was full of praise for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish last night, following England’s 2-0 loss in Belgium.

Grealish was handed a starting role by Gareth Southgate and was arguably the best player on the field, especially in the second period, as England and Grealish took the game to the Red Devils.

And although it was not to be in terms of the result for the Three Lions, the performance of Grealish caught the attention of fans, former players, and pundits alike.

Indeed, Lineker, who scored 48 goals for England, took to Twitter to express his opinion on Grealish, branding the midfielder ‘delightful’.

Manager Gareth Southgate was also impressed with the Aston Villa star, calling his midfielder outstanding following his display.

Grealish, then, seems to have played his way into the first XI under the England boss now, after initially struggling to convince the Three Lions boss that he was the real deal.

Make no bones about it, Jack Grealish was exceptional last night despite England’s loss.

He now has to be in the first XI and he’s proven to the nation what Aston Villa fans have been thinking and seeing for the last two seasons and more.

Grealish was something of a throwback to the days of Gascgoine with his ability to run at players, take the ball in tight situations, and seemingly look to create from nothing. A massive plus for England and, of course, Villa.
