‘Delicious’: BBC pundit praises 24-year-old Leeds ace’s magic moment against Liverpool

Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has been praised by BBC Sport pundit Leon Osman following his superb corner for the Whites’ goal in the Premier League draw with Liverpool at Elland Road.

Marcelo Bielsa’s charges fell behind on 31 minutes as Sadio Mane slotted Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cutback into the empty net after Illan Meslier had rushed out of goal.

Leeds were much improved after the break and, just three minutes from time, got their equaliser as Harrison’s inswinging corner was headed home by the in-form Diego Llorente.

“A delicious ball in from Harrison, over the head of Firmino, Kazak can’t get there and Llorente got to the ball in between the Liverpool players,” Osman said on BBC Radio 5 Live ().

“He had the desire to get his head on the ball, he headed it down and it just goes past Alisson. There was nothing the Liverpool goalkeeper could do from that distance.

In wake of Liverpool having agreed to join the breakaway European Super League the day before, Osman added: “This shows how exciting the Premier League can be.”

Harrison, currently on loan from Manchester City, has made 30 Premier League appearances this season, scoring seven goals and assisting a further six.

The 24-year-old was also on loan at Leeds during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, and has clocked up 122 appearances in all competitions for the Elland Road side.

Following their draw, Leeds currently sit 10th in the Premier League table.
