‘Definitely collapsed’: Romano shares transfer update on ‘huge opportunity’ which could interest Arsenal

Arsenal were linked with Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon for much of last year.

A report from October claimed the Gunners were one of several Premier League sides eyeing him.

As well as Arsenal, the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham, Everton, Brighton, Aston Villa and Southampton were apparently after Solomon.

This year, it looked as though the 22-year-old was on his way to Fulham, a move seemingly a formality.

However, Fabrizio Romano reported last week that the Cottagers’ move for Solomon was “on the verge of collapse”.

And on Friday, the transfer insider revealed that the move has now completely collapsed.

Solomon is now talking to other clubs who are looking to take advantage of the “huge opportunity” in front of them.

Solomon being available again could well be of interest to Arsenal.

Although the Gunners need a striker first and foremost, they could also do with someone on the left wing.

Solomon largely plays on the left flank, but he can also play on the right and as a No. 10 or second striker.

In November 2020, released an article detailing Solomon’s progression over the last few years.

They compared the Israeli winger to Real Madrid and Belgium superstar Eden Hazard.

A young, incredibly talented player with a high ceiling, he seems like a great shout for Arsenal.

In addition, Fulham were reportedly only going to pay around £7million for Solomon.

And they had apparently agreed a £25,000-a-week deal.

Arsenal could easily double both the transfer fee Solomon’s salary, and they’d still be getting a bargain.
