Defender Emery sold in 2019 spotted back at the Emirates watching Arsenal play last night
Arsenal’s fantastic start to the season couldn’t keep them in the Carabao Cup last night.
The Gunners fell to a 3-1 defeat to an impressive Brighton side after Mikel Arteta made a host of changes.
Arsenal went in front through Eddie Nketiah, who has an exceptional record in this competition.
However, a slip from debutant Karl Hein lead to the Estonian fouling Danny Welbeck and giving away a penalty.
Welbeck coolly slotted the penalty home to haunt his old club.
Arteta backed the debutant after the game, and insisted he deserved his start yesterday.

Kaoru Mitoma and Tariq Lamptey’s second-half goals ended Arsenal involvement in the competition.
Gunners fans won’t be too upset with their elimination last night given how well they’re doing in other competitions.
Their phenomenal start to the Premier League has given them the perfect platform to return to the Champions League.
They also topped their Europa League group and have the knockout stages to look forward to after Christmas.
Plenty of players have a fantastic relationship with the club after they leave and return to the Emirates.
One man who came back yesterday was Nacho Monreal who was spotted at Arsenal yesterday.
Monreal spotted at Arsenal last night
.
Monreal spent six seasons at Arsenal after joining from Malaga in 2013.
The full-back played more than 250 games for the Gunners, winning three FA Cups and three Community Shields.
Monreal was always a popular figure at the club, and fans would have been glad to spot him outside Arsenal’s ground yesterday.

He would have been disappointed to see his old side lose last night, but there might have been a silver lining.
Monreal played 86 times with Welbeck and would have been happy to see him score.
Welbeck sent a message to Arsenal fans after the game, and didn’t celebrate after his goal.
Monreal will be hoping to witness a better performance next time he’s spotted at Arsenal.
