Declan Rice says West Ham have an ‘unbelievable’ talent in their ranks

West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has praised the “unbelievable” Said Benrahma following Thursday’s Europa League draw.

The Hammers attacker was his side’s best player as David Moyes marked his 1000th game as a manager with a 2-2 draw at Genk.

After Joseph Paintsil’s early opener, Benrahma equalised just before the hour mark.

The 26-year-old connected with Vladimir Coufal’s pass to fire home a first-time finish.

Benrahma then put West Ham ahead in the 82nd minute with a superb solo effort.

Benrahma skilfully got the better of Genk defender Mujaid Sadick before rifling a low finish into the net at the near post.

Sadly, West Ham conceded late on, Tomas Soucek flicking a cross backwards into his own net with a header.

Despite the disappointing end to the game, Benrahma’s masterclass was a huge positive.

The Algeria international has enjoyed a good season so far, registering six goals and three assists from 15 appearances in all competitions.

“I’ve been with Said for over a year now and I know what he can do,” Rice told the West Ham .

“I’m always on at him to keep doing what he’s doing on the pitch – keep expressing himself and keep having the fun that he has.

“Tonight you can see the fun he had, he bailed us out with his two goals and he’s an unbelievable player.”
