Declan Rice now sends one-word message to £80m player Arsenal really want to sign this month

In the wake of yesterday’s football, Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has now sent a message to a player the club would reportedly like to sign.

Rice provided the first assist for Arsenal in their 5-0 win against Crystal Palace yesterday, whipping in a corner for Gabriel Magalhaes to head home.

And as always, the midfielder was immaculate in the middle, proving why he’s one of Mikel Arteta’s most trusted players.

Although often tried at number eight earlier in the season, it does seem as if Rice is at his most effective when playing in the pivot.

Of course, he might be even more successful if he had a prolific goalscorer in front of him.

And whilst goals certainly weren’t an issue for Arteta’s team yesterday, they will face bigger tests in the weeks and months to come.

Ivan Toney is said to be the signing that Arsenal really want to make, be it this month or in the summer.

And following his goal-scoring return to the pitch for Brentford yesterday, Arsenal’s Rice went on to send Toney a message.

Toney recently shared a heart-felt message when uploading a collection of photos to from his side’s win over Nottingham Forest.

The striker said: “I’ve been manifesting this moment for a long time.

“It’s been difficult being out this long but stepping foot out on the pitch yesterday, scoring and winning was worth the wait.

“I’d also like to thank the fans who have stuck by me throughout!

“Losing my uncle during this time has also been tough but I’d like to dedicate my goal to him, I hope he’s proud. Let’s keep working and building together.”

Of course, England teammate Declan Rice was quick to reply with his support.

Rice simply sent a one-word message to Toney saying: “Yesssir”, a player he’d surely love to be playing alongside at Arsenal.

Incidentally, David Raya was also showing his support for his former teammate with a message after his return too.

It’s clear that Toney would have a friend of two at Arsenal should he ever make a move.

And although a transfer seems unlikely this month, it certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if Arsenal pushed for the £80m man in the summer.
