Declan Rice mocks Lyon on Twitter after West Ham run riot in France to reach Europa semis
West Ham United captain Declan Rice has taken to Twitter to mock a Lyon tweet after the Hammers reached the Europa League semi-finals.
David Moyes’ charges ran out 3-0 winners at the Groupama Stadium to win 4-1 on aggregate and reach their first European semi-final in 46 years
West Ham, who drew 1-1 at the London Stadium in the first leg, had to withstand plenty of pressure early on. But once they found the net, they never looked back.

Craig Dawson got the Hammers up and running with a superb near-post header from Pablo Fornals’ corner on 38 minutes.
Just before the break, Rice made it two with a deflected strike from the top of the area after Ben Johnson’s cross was cleared into his path.
Three minutes after the break, West Ham added their third, with the Lyon defence floundering once again.
A sensational pass from Fornals sent Jarrod Bowen through on goal, and he swept a fine finish past Julian Pollersbeck.
The hosts offered little in the way of a response as the Hammers saw the game out for a historic European victory.
Earlier this week, the Europa League Twitter account asked which four teams would progress to the semi-finals.
Lyon responded by writing: “Are you really asking like there’s a chance we don’t go through?”
Rice was eager to issue his own response after the match:
West Ham have set up a semi-final with Eintracht Frankfurt.
The Bundesliga side beat Barcelona 3-2 at the Nou Camp to win 4-3 on aggregate.
