Declan Rice impressed by West Ham striker Sebastien Haller

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice has praised teammate Sebastien Haller for his start to life at the London Stadium.

The Hammers broke their transfer record in the summer to bring him to the club for £45million () from German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.

Haller has settled quickly to English football and has three goals in his opening three Premier League matches.

The 25-year-old has wasted no time settling into Manuel Pellegrini’s team and looks a brilliant addition to English football, with his physical presence and composure in the penalty area really catching the eye so far.

He managed 20 goals across all competitions  for Frankfurt last season in 41 games and West Ham fans would surely be delighted if he can repeat that kind of tally with them.

Rice has spoken highly of Haller following his summer arrival and is impressed by him.

“Seb is a great lad. I’m buzzing for him. We paid a lot of money for him and I’m delighted for him that he’s got his goals,”

“All our strikers have always given everything and I can’t say a bad word about them, as they’ve all given everything for the team. Now, we’ve got Seb and he looks really good.”

TBR’s View:

Haller has quickly got West Ham supporters on his side after a quality start and it seems like teammates are behind him too.

He’s going to have a vital role to play if the club are truly going to match their aspirations of breaking into the European spots, as they need a consistent goalscorer at the top end of the pitch.

Haller ticks all the boxes so far and it will be intriguing to see if he can keep up the form after the two-week international break.

The Frenchman has immense pressure on his shoulders to justify £45million, something which will be done if he can fire the club to Europe.
