Declan Rice and Emile Smith Rowe react to transfer deadline day news coming from Arsenal
Declan Rice, Emile Smith Rowe and many other big names have now reacted to what Arsenal did on transfer deadline day.
It has been an eventful day so far at the Emirates Stadium, with Bournemouth No.1 Neto currently undergoing a medical as the Brazilian prepares to replace Aaron Ramsdale.
There has also been some terrible news, as Mikel Arteta revealed in his press conference that Mikel Merino suffered a serious shoulder injury in his first training session.
In the meantime – however – Declan Rice and Emile Smith Rowe have shared their thoughts on a piece of transfer news coming from Arsenal on deadline day…
How Emile Smith Rowe and Declan Rice responded to transfer deadline day development at Arsenal
The pair of England internationals have now commented on Instagram after Ramsdale sent a farewell message.
In case you missed it, Ramsdale has now sealed a £25m move to Southampton after losing his No.1 spot to David Raya last season.
Interestingly, Arsenal initially wanted to sign Joan Garcia from Espanyol to replace the England international, but the Gunners have now settled for a cheaper option in Neto, who is set to arrive on loan.
After Ramsdale paid tribute to Arsenal and said his goodbyes, Rice wrote “good luck brother go smash it ❤️” as Smith Rowe added three more heart emojis of his own.
Cedric Soares also reacted to the development, writing “what a guy 👏🏻 Good luck brother 🙏🏻❤️” as Gabriel Jesus, Alexandre Lacazette and Jurrien Timber also sent heart emojis.
All of these responses arrived almost immediately, so Ramsdale was clearly a very popular figure at the Emirates Stadium.
Edu Gaspar adores Aaron Ramsdale replacement
While everybody seems sad to see Ramsdale depart, Edu Gaspar will presumably be delighted once Neto officially arrives at the 26-year-old’s replacement.
A story from claims that Edu – Director of Football at Arsenal – is a massive fan of Neto and has followed the Brazil international throughout his career, which included a spell at Barcelona.

Therefore, while Arsenal have undoubtedly lost a big character in Ramsdale, the Gunners are at least signing a trusted, admired glovesman to replace him.
Keep an eye out for more developments at Arsenal, as there could be further transfer activity to follow.
