Meanwhile, also linked Southampton with the 19-year-old a few weeks ago.

Colwill spent last season on loan at Championship outfit Huddersfield.

He made 32 appearances for the Terries and helped them reach the play-off final, where they lost to Forest.

“I have to find other ways”

Although Colwill has expressed a desire to play for Chelsea’s first team, he’s not afraid to leave in pursuit of regular first-team football.

The Sun quoted him as saying: “For me, playing for Chelsea will always be the main aim right now because it’s my club.

“But if that doesn’t happen, well then I have to find other ways to progress and become the player I want to be.”

Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided a boost for Palace, Forest, Leicester, Brighton and Southampton

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday evening, the transfer insider claimed Colwill is “likely to leave” Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are currently working to sign ‘three top centre-backs’, which would likely push Colwill further down the pecking order.

As a result, the club and their player “will make a decision soon” on his future.

In April, former Chelsea ace Paul Canoville Colwill to be “by far the better player” over Andreas Christensen, who has joined Barcelona.

Scouting website recently described Colwill as a “teen sensation” with “extraordinary potential”.

If Palace, Forest or any of his other suitors can land him, they’d be signing a player with an incredibly high ceiling.
