Dean Smith hails Aston Villa duo Jack Grealish and Anwar El Ghazi

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith praised pair Jack Grealish and Anwar El Ghazi after the side’s draw away to Brighton on Saturday.

The Midlands club managed to record a 1-1 draw in the Premier League at Brighton and remain 18th in the table as a result, but just a point behind 17th-placed Watford.

Leandro Trossard had put the visitors in front in the first-half, but Villa equalised in the second period with a stunner from Jack Grealish.

The club captain fired in a half-volley on his weaker left foot to the back of the net and helped earn a decent point on the road.

They now host Watford on Tuesday in a mammoth league fixture and have some momentum going into it.

Smith did pick out Grealish for yet another classy display for him, as well as giving El Ghazi a special mention for his work-rate.

“He’s (Grealish) a super player, a super lad as well and that’s why it’s so pleasing that he’s doing so well this season,

“It’s his record goalscoring season and that will continue and he’ll score more. Anwar El Ghazi ran his socks off today./p>

Grealish holds the key to Villa staying in the top-flight this season and he’s proving this season that he deserves a big-money move to an elite club.

The 24-year-old provided the attacking threat against Brighton as a left-winger and found the back of the net in style.

He’s now scored nine goals and managed six assists this campaign in 24 matches across all competitions.

Meanwhile, El Ghazi did a strong job in a false nine position at the weekend for the team and is helping to fill the void left by injured striker Wesley Moraes.

The Dutchman is much more effective as a winger, but slotted in for Villa against Brighton and is a fan favourite.
