Dean Smith confirms Kortney Hause is available for Aston Villa’s clash with Everton
Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has confirmed an injury boost ahead of Friday night’s clash with Everton. Smith has told a pre-match press conference that Kortney Hause is available for selection, .
Hause signed for Aston Villa in the summer after impressing on loan from Wolves last season. He was part of the promotion-winning squad and he has rejoined the club for the Premier League campaign.
But the left-footed central defender has had to sit out of the opening two games due to injury. However, Smith now has Hause back for the game against Everton. Aston Villa’s defence has received a boost as they search for their first points of the season.

It is not all good news on the injury front, though. Smith added that James Chester is still ruled out with a hamstring injury while Jonathan Kodjia will not be back for the Everton game.
TBR’s view
Having Hause back boosts Smith’s options even if he is unlikely to play. Smith seems to have found his first-choice pairing in Bjorn Engels and Tyrone Mings but Hause provides strong cover.
The 24-year-old impressed last season and he will jostle with Ezri Konsa for the back-up centre-back spot. He can also play at left-back if either Neil Taylor or Matt Targett suffers an injury.
