Dean Ashton and Jack Collison send Twitter messages to West Ham star

Dean Ashton and Jack Collison both sent messages on social media after West Ham’s captain Mark Noble agreed a new contract at the London Stadium on Tuesday.

The Hammers confirmed () yesterday that Noble has signed a new one-year deal, which keeps him at the club until the summer of 2022.

It also came with the confirmation from the West Ham captain that it would be his 18th and last season with the club.

Noble, who earns £50,000-a-week (), will have one more season for the club he’s spent his senior career at.

The 33-year-old central midfielder remarkably has 520 appearances so far for the Irons.

He’s no longer a regular starter in the West Ham XI, but has still featured in 18 games this season across all competitions for manager David Moyes.

Ex-West Ham players Dean Ashton and Jack Collison posted Twitter messages on Tuesday to Noble:

TBR’s View:

Noble is someone that an entire generation of West Ham fans will have grown up watching, which is why it’ll be quite a sad moment when he departs at the end of next season.

He’s epitomised what a club captain should be with his leadership both on and off the pitch.

Fortunately, Declan Rice is a ready-made replacement that is already thriving in the centre of the park as the stand-in captain and he’s got midfield partner Tomas Soucek alongside him running the show.
