Davide Ancelotti hails impact of Everton coach Duncan Ferguson

Davide Ancelotti has explained that Everton coach Duncan Ferguson has had a big impact on him since he arrived at Goodison Park.

Ancelotti moved to Merseyside in December to become assistant boss under his father, Carlo, who is the first-team manager.

The Toffees currently have Ancelotti and Ferguson working as joint-assistant coaches and they are part of the backroom staff at the club.

Everton were unfortunately hammered 4-0 away to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their last game before football was suspended due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

They sit 12th in the Premier League table with nine games remaining and could still finish in a European spot if they finish the season strongly, but like everyone else they are waiting to hear when that could be.

“Working with such a legend for Everton, it gives you this Everton feeling. I am the first Everton supporter now. Being with him (Duncan Ferguson), you can feel how he loves Everton,”

TBR’s View:

Ferguson was a huge favourite as a former Everton striker and he’s now having an influence behind the scenes too on the staff.

He showed his passion for the club during his brief spell as interim boss before the club appointed Carlo Ancelotti and there is no doubt he understands all about the club.

It’s a great decision to keep Ferguson as a central figure around Everton and it looks like he’s rubbing off on others.
