David Webb and Huddersfield fans react to Arsenal loanee Emile Smith Rowe’s display
Huddersfield Town’s head of football operations David Webb has joined a number of the club’s fans in taking to Twitter to laud Arsenal youngster Emile Smith Rowe’s display in the Terriers’ defeat at Fulham at the weekend.
Danny Cowley’s men looked to be heading for a nightmare afternoon at Craven Cottage. Fulham were 3-0 up inside 31 minutes.

But Smith Rowe did his best to inspire a dramatic turnaround against Scott Parker’s side.
The 19-year-old – who was making his third Championship appearance after joining from the Gunners – scored and provided an assist in four minutes to give Huddersfield a lifeline before the break.

Smith Rowe squeezed the ball home from six yards for the visitors’ first goal. And it was his cross to the back post that allowed Steve Mounie to bundle the ball across the line for a second shortly after.
A third goal evaded Huddersfield. But Smith Rowe certainly made a massive impression on the Huddersfield fans on social media after the game.
The teenager received a number of plaudits. And it is clear to many that he is going to prove to be a fantastic signing for the club during the coming months.
Amongst those to laud the Arsenal youngster was Webb. The club’s head of football operations labelled Smith Rowe’s display outstanding.
And it is clear that plenty of fans completely agree with Webb’s assessment.
Here is what Webb and some of the fans made of his display…
After a shaky start the terriers battled back well and deserved at least a point from the game⚽️ Emile Smith Rowe was outstanding for us today ?⚪️

Emile Smith-Rowe is 100% the best Arsenal player out on loan at the moment.

A kamakarze first half hour by Hudds but then totally battered Fulham but only managed 2 goals back. Fulham GK MOTM. Smith Rowe outstanding. Cowleys players in, I’m sure they will climb away now.

Unbelievably frustrating result but a lot of positives. Willock & Lossl coming in will shore up a few things. Cowley needs to get Grant a bit more disciplined, Toffolo far too exposed at times today. ESR though what a player. Far too good for this league that lad

We showed fight and spirit
Cannot give a team a 3 goal lead before playing
Fulham GK was superb second half
Toffolo and Smith Rowe brilliant for us
Two big home games coming up against QPR and Cardiff. Both winnable!
Look forward to seeing Lossl and Willock next sat— Dazza ☦ ? (@SuperStankovic)
Not often you can take positives from a defeat, especially after being 0-3 down. Great spirit to fight back and unlucky not to come away with a point. We now look like a side who can score goals on a regular basis. In Smith-Rowe we have one hell of a player.

First 30 has completely cost us there, think we should be okay the Jan business should keep us out of trouble. Smith-Rowe looks a real talent, good to see Mounie consistently on the score sheet at last.

Top effort ! Just a shame it didn’t come til we were 0-3! Lots of positivity attacking wise going forward for sure…ESR a real revelation. Reckon we win next week and go on a run well up the table.
