David Wagner believes Everton man Jonjoe Kenny is close to becoming a fan favourite at Schalke
Schalke boss David Wagner believes Everton loan signing Jonjoe Kenny is already on his way to becoming a fan favourite at the Bundesliga club.
the ex-Huddersfield manager has been full of praise for the Toffees youngster who will spend the season on loan in Germany.
The 22-year-old has started every game for his new club and scored a stunning goal against Hertha Berlin prior to the international break.

Wagner is pleased with the youngster so far and has been a fan for a while.
“As soon as I found out that we were not able to afford someone to buy because of financial restraints, Jonjoe was one of the first names I put on the table.
“I can tell you what, he is already close to becoming a fan favourite here in our stadium. He has done an amazing job so far and scored a wonderful goal against Hertha Berlin. He is for sure one of the best signings which we have made this summer.”
Kenny was handed quite a bit of game time last season in the absence of Seamus Coleman. With the Republic of Ireland man now back to full fitness, it made sense for the youngster to head out on loan.
His thunderbolt against Berlin ensured four points from a possible nine from the first three matches. With Wagner at the helm, there is enough evidence that Kenny will receive lots of game time during the course of the campaign.
TBR Verdict – Loan move looking perfect case scenario for Everton youngster
Once Coleman regained full fitness it made perfect sense for Kenny to head out on loan.

When Schalke was announced as the destination it was met with some intrigue. Kenny has only been to Oxford and Wigan on previous temporary spells.
It took a lot of bottle for him to leave England completely and head to the Bundesliga but already it seems like he has a manager who trusts him.
Game time will be key for Kenny during the 2019/20 campaign and the fact he has a manager in Wagner who trusts him can only bode well for the future.
