David Seaman shares Jack Porter verdict after Arsenal youngster starts v Bolton
Arsenal cruised into the fourth round of the League Cup after running out 5-1 winners over Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday night.
Mikel Arteta rang the changes for the Gunners, who had five debutants including four teenagers in their starting XI.
Jack Porter and Josh Nichols made their Arsenal senior debuts, while Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri made their full debuts.
Raheem Sterling also made his first start for the North Londoners since his summer move from Chelsea.
Arsenal also had another four academy talents on their bench in Alexei Rojas, Maldini Kacurri, Ayden Heaven and Ismeal Kabia.
Nwaneri was the star of the show, marking his full debut with a brace, while Sterling also marked his first start with a goal.
Declan Rice and Kai Havertz also got on the scoresheet, while Aaron Collins netted Bolton’s consolation with an effort Porter couldn’t do much about.

David Seaman hails Arsenal youngster Jack Porter
Porter, who replaced David Raya in goal, made history for Arsenal by becoming the youngest player to ever start a game for them, aged 16 years and 72 days.
And while Nwaneri’s exhilarating brace saw him get the spotlight, Highbury legend David Seaman was eager to also single Porter out for praise.
Seaman took to X to praise Porter’s display in the comments of an Arsenal post, saying: “So pleased to see this young man’s Arsenal debut go so well! #safehands Jack!”
What did the media say about Porter display?

They continued: “Could maybe have been off his line quicker for the goal, but was decent with his feet and dealt with Bolton set pieces.
“Will go down in the Arsenal history books for a long time.”

“The 16-year-old had little to do, but looked confident enough on such a big occasion. Left all alone with Collins broke clear to score.”

When did Porter join Arsenal and how has he fared this season?
As per the official , Porter joined the club in 2020.
He made four appearances for Jack Wilshere’s academy side in the Under-18 Premier League last season before signing scholarship terms in the summer.
This season, Porter has made two U18 Premier League appearances, conceding five times, and also one Premier League 2 outing for the Under-21s, conceding once.
The teenager has also represented England at Under-16 and Under-17 level.
Last week saw Porter make Arsenal’s first-team bench for the Champions League game against Atalanta.
He was a part of the travelling squad for the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur and the Manchester City match on Sunday.
