David Seaman says ‘brilliant’ Manchester United youngster plays with the same attitude as Jude Bellingham
David Seaman has suggested that there is a Manchester United youngster who reminds him of Jude Bellingham in the way he appears to play with no fear at all.
It has been a difficult season for Manchester United. Erik ten Hag won a lot of admirers for the job he did in his first year at Old Trafford. But they have been unable to kick on this season, and ღthey now have a big task on their hands to qualify for the Champions Lꦐeague.
That has led to speculation that Manchester United could look to appoint a🌳 new manager this summer. But there have been a few positives to emerge from this campa🐻ign.
And perhaps no positive has been greater than the emergence of Kobbie Mainoo. The 18-year-old went into this season having made just three appearances. But there is now surely an argument that Mainoo is one of the 🅷first names on the team sheet.
There is so much to like about Mainoo’s game. And with that, he was rewarded in this internationꦚal break with a debut call-up to 🌄the senior England squad.
David Seaman says Manchester United youngster plays with no fear like Jude Bellingham
Some felt that it was too soon for Mainoo to feature 🔴in Gareth Southgate’s squad. But he came oཧn during the second-half ♍of Friday’s friendly with Brazil.

And speaking on , David Seaman suggested that he was almost t𝓰aken aback by how comfortab🐭le Mainoo looked on the international stage.
“I tell you who else looked good as well, I know he wasn’t on long, Kobbie Maino🦹o. He just fits in so naturally. It’s brilliant to see. A lad of that age going out there and just playing, but he’s got no fear. He’s going out there and he’s just playing his natural game. And his game looks really, really good,” he said.
“They asked me about it the other day, and I was like it might be a little bit too early because of what happened with Theo. And then every time I see him play, he just looks really mature. He’s in that Jude Bellingham mode where he’s just going out there and playing and enjoying himself. But they’ve got stature with it as well. It’s like they’ve got th൩is confidence about themselves. I was really impressed. I know he wasn’t on for long, so it would be nice to see him against Belgium.”
Huge praise for Kobbie Mainoo
To mention Mainoo in the same category as Bellingham is extremely high praise. Bellingham has been absolutely outstanding at everღy stage of his career, and is now shini🐼ng at Real Madrid.
But it is remarkable how Mainoo appears to be clearing every hurdle put in front of him right now. He has been so consistent for United. And he did well to impress against💦 Brazil last week.
As Seaman suggests, it would൲ be fantastic to see him get a first sta🌜rt against Belgium on Tuesday.
It🍬 would beꩲ no surprise to see him impress if given the opportunity.
