David Seaman says Alisson hasn’t got enough credit for what he did in first-half of Liverpool vs Man United

Arne Slot could have hardly hoped for a more complete performance from his Liverpool side as they continued their flawless start to the new Premier League season against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Reds seemed to be on another level to Erik ten Hag’s side, with Luis Diaz scoring twice during the first-half before Mohamed Salah scored yet again at the Theatre of Dreams. It was remarkable how comfortable and confident Liverpool looked so early on in Arne Slot‘s tenure.

There were outstanding performances all over the pitch. Ryan Gravenberch ran the show against United❀, proving a lot of people ran in the process. And the early signs suggest that Slot is going to be the man to unlock Diaz’s full potential on Merseyside.

But once again, Alisson Becker was there when Liverpool needed him. Of course, the moment which will perhaps stick in the mind of many came when he denied Joshua Zirkzee from close range during the second-half. However, it seems to have been another save which really impressed David Seaman.

David Seaman praises Alisson Becker after Liverpool win

Speaking on Seaman Says, Seaman noted that Alisson made an even better stop during the first-half to deny Noussair Mazraoui – and not enough people are talking about it.

𒅌“Alisson made a decent save, do you know Alisson’s save where it went through van Dijk’s legs, and it was really close to him down here. That was a really good save, because he’s seeing that last minute, and he’s using his hands, it wasn’t a foot save. That didn’t get the credit it deserved,” he said.

Message sent to future Liverpool teammate

🦂Alisson has long been considered one of the best goalkeepers on the planet, but it really does appear that he is off to a flyer at the start of this campaign.

💎As shown by , he goes into the international break with just two goalkeepers in the Premier League performing better against their expected goals conceded tallies. And of course, the Brazilian is yet to pick the ball out of his own net in the opening three games in this campaign.

🌳Alisson would have to wait until the final game in October to keep his third clean sheet in the top-flight last season, so that improvement is definitely significant.

🐼Alisson spoke in favour of Liverpool signing Giorgi Mamardashvili in the summer🌄, noting that it is right for the club to have one eye on the future.

🅷But judging by how he has started the campaign, it would appear that Alisson has so much more to give before he leaves the stage clear for his successor.
