David Seaman says 20-year-old Man United player must be ‘so frustrated’ because his teammates ignore him

David Seaman has given his verdict on Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund.

The former Arsenal and Manchester City goalkeeper has noticed how Hojlund’s United teammates let him down during matches.

So, what has David Seaman said about Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund? Let’s take a look.

David Seaman comments on Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund

Well, Manchester United won in the FA Cup this past weekend. Erik ten Hag’s side beat Newport County away from home in the fourth round.

Rasmus Hojlund was among the goalscorers for United. The 20-year-old Denmark international striker found the back of the net in the fourth minute of injury time.

The youngster finished from close range after substitute Omari Forson had a shot blocked by Nick Townsend.

Former Arsenal and Manchester City goalkeeper David Seaman was pleased for Hojlund, and he has noted how United teammates let down the striker.

The pundit has said that even though the young striker gets into good positions, the United attacking players do not feed him the ball and try to score themselves.

Seaman said on podcast: “Rasmus Hojlund must be so frustrated because he gets into so many good positions but doesn’t receive the ball. He doesn’t receive it for tap-ins or little near post headers or things like that.

“When he scored the goal, I was really pleased for him. I love the fact that he properly celebrates and a lot of frustration comes out in his celebrations and I can totally understand it.

“For me he’s a good player but he’s not getting the right supply. There is a lot of selfish moments.”

My View: Rasmus Hojlund has to stay positive

In my opinion, Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has to stay positive and has to back himself.

It has not been a particularly great debut season for Hojlund at United. And he will be aware of that.

United as a team have not been great so far this campaign, and it is unlikely that the Red Devils will end up in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

Hojlund has made 13 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for United this season.

The 20-year-old Denmark international forward scored five goals in six UEFA Champions League matches for United this campaign.

Hojlund is a very young striker. It is not easy for any player to lead the line for arguably the biggest club in England.

We have to be patient with Hojlund, who himself has to take the positives and has to build on them.
