David Ornstein shares whether Eddie Nketiah is still likely to leave Arsenal before deadline day
With less than a week until the transfer window slams shut, Edu and Arsenal still have a number of deals to get over the line.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad has been strengthened in the form of Riccardo Calafiori’s arrival, but there could be two or three deals still to go.
Mikel Merino completed his Arsenal medical on Sunday, another superb signing who will add much needed strength in depth to Arteta’s midfield.
But beyond the pair who have been spoken about a lot this summer, Arsenal also still want to add another forward to their squad.
Arteta isn’t looking for someone who will immediately disrupt things, rather a Leandro Trossard type figure, someone who can offer immediate quality in rotation.
That being said, in order for all of these planned deals to go through, Arsenal still need to shift several players on the periphery of their squad.
And most importantly, Arsenal need to cash-in on Eddie Nketiah, who is currently starved of minutes in north London.
Eddie Nketiah will no longer be leaving Arsenal for Nottingham Forest
It has previously been reported that Nketiah was close to leaving Arsenal for Nottingham Forest, who were looking to add another striker to their squad.
However, David Ornstein has just shared via that Nketiah’s proposed £30m move to Forest has now broken down.

Forest couldn’t find an agreement with the Arsenal striker, a big blow to any plans the club may have had to swiftly bring in another attacker
Fortunately from that point of view, Ornstein did share that Nketiah was still expected to leave Arsenal before the transfer window closes.
Of course, it remains to be seen who will come in for Nketiah at the eleventh hour.
Marseille were keen on the England international earlier in the summer, but they instead opted to sign Ligue 1 goalscorer Elye Wahi from Lens.
In terms of other Premier League clubs who could come in for Nketiah, perhaps Brentford could potentially be in the market to replace Ivan Toney were he to head to Saudi Arabia.
But that is still very hypothetical at this stage.
