David Ornstein shares ‘overnight’ Dominic Solanke update as Tottenham move edges closer

Dominic Solanke to Tottenham is a transfer story that went into overdrive on Saturday as Spurs close in on their second major summer signing.

The England international is said to be very close to becoming a Tottenham player, and according to David Ornstein, the deal is now done.

Indeed, the journalist reports that Solanke has now put pen to paper and signed his Tottenham contract overnight, meaning that he, for all intents and purposes, is now a Spurs player.

Dominic Solanke has signed Tottenham contract

According to Ornstein, Solanke signed for Spurs overnight.

Either on Friday evening or in the early hours of Saturday morning, Solanke officially signed for Tottenham, and now, all that needs to happen is the formal announcement.

This announcement could come at any minute, or it could be slightly delayed.

Indeed, given how much stock club in-house media put into these signing announcement packages, it could still be another 24 hours before this deal is officially announced as Tottenham try to put these packages together.

Dominic Solanke could be ready to debut against Leicester

Tottenham are the last team to get their Premier League season started as they kick off on Monday evening of the opening weekend of the season.

While it is frustrating in some ways to play in that Monday evening slot, there is also the benefit of having more time for your new signings to bed-in.

Solanke could well be ready to play in Spurs’ opening game against Leicester as he’ll now have a whole week to get used to Ange Postecoglou’s ways and understand what is expected of him.

Tottenham have finally signed their Harry Kane replacement, and it wouldn’t be a surprise at all of Postecoglou threw him straight into the starting XI and given how good Solanke was last season, he could have an immediate impact.

It’s only a matter of time before Solanke is officially announced as a Tottenham player.
