David Ornstein has shared the information he has been given about Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.
The Athletic journalist has claimed that not everyone at Arsenal is convinced that Luiz is the right player for them.
So, what has been reported about Arsenal and Douglas Luiz? Let’s take a look.
David Ornstein’s take on Arsenal and Douglas Luiz rumour
Well, The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has reported that not everyone at Arsenal is keen on signing Douglas Luiz from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the January transfer window.
The journalist has noted that Villa themselves do not want to sell the former Manchester City prospect in the middle of the season. After all, they are in the race for the Premier League title.

Earlier this month, reported that in January. has noted that Gunners manager Mikel Arteta personally wants to bring the Brazilian star to the Emirates Stadium.
When asked in a if Arsenal could sign Luiz in January, Ornstein said: “They went for Luiz late last January but I have no information to suggest they plan to do so this time round.
“As great a player as he is, not everyone at Arsenal is fully convinced he is the right profile for them. And the feeling at Villa is that there is no chance he leaves.”
My View: Douglas Luiz would make Arsenal better
In my view, Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz would make Arsenal a better and more solid team in the middle of the park.
Luiz is one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League. The 25-year-old has improved steadily during his time at Aston Villa. . with a move for the 25-year-old.
Arsenal are doing well in midfield, but if the Gunners are to continue to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in the coming years, then they need players like Luiz.
The Brazil international is 25 now and has his best years ahead of him. Just like Martin Odegaard has during his time at Arsenal, Luiz could get to another level under manager Mikel Arteta.
There is speculation that Thomas Partey could leave Arsenal in the January transfer window. Luiz could be his replacement at the Emirates Stadium.
