David Ornstein says Arsenal players and staff are ‘blown away’ by 22-year-old player who’s only played twice

David Ornstein has claimed that Arsenal players and coaching staff were blown away by Jurrien Timber before he suffered his injury.

The Gunners have had a good season so far, but injuries have really affected them. The likes of Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey are all currently sidelined, but Timber’s injury may just be the most disappointing of them all.

Arsenal staff were blown away by Jurrien Timber before his injury

Arsenal signed Jurrien Timber from Ajax in the summer for £38 million ().

The 22-year-old had an incredible pre-season. His performances were so good that he became a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium just weeks after joining the club.

Timber played in Arsenal’s Community Shield win over Manchester City and had a brilliant game. He then started the first Premier League game of the season against Nottingham Forest but barely lasted 45 minutes.

The Dutchman suffered an ACL injury after just two competitive games for Arsenal, and he has been sidelined until next year as a result.

David Ornstein has now revealed that before Timber got injured, everyone at Arsenal were seriously impressed by his quality.

He wrote in his : “The Jurrien Timber injury was a huge setback. He had blown away staff and team-mates, and it’s a massive loss.”

Arsenal have really missed Timber

Arsenal fans were devastated when it was confirmed that Jurrien Timber would be out for months.

The Dutchman was so good in pre-season. He was used in both full-back positions, and despite being right-footed, he looked amazing on the opposite side as well.

Many Arsenal even fans believed Timber would become Arsenal’s first-choice left-back ahead of Oleksandr Zinchenko. He could’ve been a real asset for them, but sadly, his injury ruined everything.

Timber is expected to return to action early next year.
