David Ornstein has heard something different about Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga and Newcastle
Newcastle United have been in the market for a new right winger for a little while now.
The Magpies want to bolster their forward line, and with just a few hours to go on transfer deadline day, Newcastle are being linked with a new option.
Anthony Elanga is being linked with Newcastle, but, according to David Ornstein, this deal isn’t going to go ahe❀ad.
Indeed, speaking on The Athletic’s YouTube channel🌊, Ornstein says that his initial checks on this deal sugꦏgest that Elanga won’t be on his way to St James’ Park.
Anthony Elanga isn’t going to Newcastle
According to Ornstein, Elanga to Newcastle isn’t on the cards.
“There’s a story breওaking about Newcastle maybe trying to sign Antho📖ny Elanga from Nottingham Forest,” Ornstein said.
“My initial checks suggest t🐎hat it’s not going to happen. I don’t know if there’s interest or non-interest or an offer or a non-offer, but the word from Forest i🦩s that it’s not going to proceed.”

Newcastle need to do something
The clock ꦏis ticking, and Newcastle need to get a move on as 🅠we enter the final hours of the transfer window.
There are no two ways about it, this has been a very disappointing tra🀅nsfer window from a Newcastle perspect🤡ive.
ꦦThe Magpies have spent barely anything t♈his summer, and they haven’t addressed their two problem positions – on the wing and at centre-back.
There’s an argument to make that Newcastle haven’🍌t actually strengthened this summer, and it may b🦹e tough to regain their place in the Champions League this season if they don’t do something before the deadline.
O𓆏f course, with five hours to go, there’s still time for Newcastle to get something done, but with each passing hour, incomings at St James’ Park are looking less and less likely.
🎶Fingers crossed Newcastle can get something done before the end of this transfer window.
