David Ornstein claims Arsenal eyeing £77m star who’s ‘one of the top 3 midfielders in Europe’
Arsenal have reportedly rekindled their interest in Nicolo Barella ahead of the January transfer window.
David Ornstein, 🙈writing on , c💖laims the Gunners still like the Inter Milan ace alongside other high-calibre midfielders.
However, Ornstein suggested that, while Aꩲrsenal are keen on bringing a new midfielder in at some point, nothing is concrete just yeꦐt on that front.
“I think Arsenal would like to ad🍸d a midfielder at some point,” he wrote on his latest Q&A on The Athletic.
But there would need to be a departure and right now it doesn’t seem ꩵanything is developing on the likes of Jorginho✅, Partey or Smith Rowe.

“We know they like Zubimendi, Barellaꦅ, Neto and others but again I don’t know of any movement of that.
“Neves is staying in Saudi, I can’t see Villa letting ♛Luiz go and to my knowledge Arsenal were not seriously looking at either for this window anyway.”
Arsenal eyeing Nicolo Barella
Arsenal could certainly do with bolstering their midfield ranks next year. Thomas Partey’💫s injury issues are seeing him on the sidelines a lot, while the jury remains out on Fabio Vieira.
Barella has been linked with the Gunners – as well as oth🌄er top Premier League teams – in the past. And as one of the best midfielders in the game, that’s not su𒅌rprising.
This season, the 26-year-old made 19 appearances for Inter, helping them to the top of the Serie♏ A table and into the la🥀st 16 of the Champions League.
Ahead o🍬f Euro 2020, former Italy ace Nicola Berti said the reported Liverpool target was one of the very best in Europe.
“Barella is one of the top three midfielders in Europe and he is worth €90million (£77million),” It💛aly icon Nicola Berti previously told Tuttosport, via .
“Surely, he is the bes෴t midfielder in Italy, even if there is not the same competition there was when I was a footballer.
“If𓂃 he is the best🐲 midfielder in Italy, then he must be one of the best in Europe and for me he is among the top three.”
Barella has got ♈better and better since then, and he’d no doubt be an outstanding asset for an Arsenal team that already has the incredible Declan Rice in midfield.
However, it’s extremely unlikely that Inter would sell one of their main assets mid-season during a title-challenging campaign. This could be more of 🐻a summer thing.
