David Moyes in awe by what he’s seen from ‘outstanding’ Arsenal star at Euro 2024
David Moyes has hailed one Arsenal player for his performances at this summer’s Euros for his national team.
The Gunners will see one of their star names return to London Colney later this summer as a European champion with David Raya’s Spain facing Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice’s England in today’s final in Berlin.
As well as a guaranteed Euro 2024 winner, a number of Arsenal players have impressed at the tournament in Germany, with Kai Havertz winning plaudits for his performances from the home nation playing as the lone centre-forward.
Yet it’s another player who Moyes has been impressed by this summer at the Euros.

Arsenal’s William Saliba hailed as one of the best defenders at Euro 2024
Speaking to , the former West Ham manager was full of praise for Arsenal defender William Saliba, who at Euro 2024 has been arguably the best centre-back in the entire tournament.
Although France were eliminated in the semi-finals by the hands of Spain, Saliba’s performances have been an eye-opener for Les Bleus, with this tournament the one where the £27m has truly established himself as the present and future of Didier Deschamps’ defence.
And for Moyes, Saliba has been out of the standout centre-backs at the Euros, with the Arsenal defender continuing his good form from last season into this summer with his national team, at long last.
Moyes said on the defenders who impressed him at Euro 2024: “There is quite some competition: the outstanding William Saliba of France, the impressive Manuel Akanji of Switzerland and others including Radu Dragusin, Aymeric Laporte and Robin Le Normand, Riccardo Calafiori and Ruben Dias.”

Saliba has shown the world just how good he is this summer
Arsenal fans were already aware of just how brilliant Saliba was after a historic season with the Gunners, yet if the secret about the defender’s excellence wasn’t out already, it surely will be now after the Euros.
The 23-year-old defender was a man mountain for France in Germany this summer, with Saliba establishing himself as one of the best in the world and a future legend for both club and country.
And next season, Saliba will want to take his talents to another new level with Arsenal once again going for the Premier League title, with the Gunners coming so close last year to lifting the biggest prize in English football.
