David James urges Liverpool to sign Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal
David James that Gabriel Martinelli would be a brilliant signing for Liverpool, insisting that the Arsenal star has absolutely everything.
Martinelli has established himself as one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League over the last few years. He has been directly involved in 27 goals in 74 games for the Gunners since bursting into the first-team.
Martinelli has returned to being a key player for Arsenal again this season. And he has helped put Mikel Arteta’s men on pole position to finish in the top-four in the Premier League this term.
It is no secret that Jurgen Klopp is a massive admirer of the Brazilian. He even lauded Martinelli after Liverpool beat Arsenal last week.
Reports have claimed that Arsenal have no intention of selling the attacker. And that may come as a disappointment to the Reds.
It will certainly be a blow for James, who recommended the Arsenal star as an ideal signing for the title-challengers.
“Gabriel Martinelli is one player who I get excited by. If it was a choice between Martinelli and Raphinha, I would go for Martinelli. He’s young and he’s got everything you need,” .
“It’s almost like a slightly rawer Díaz, and the beauty of Díaz is that he can play basically anywhere. Martinelli obviously occupies the left a lot more. I always think that with a good environment and age, you can manipulate a player into something else, and I think Martinelli fits that criteria.
“He’s young and more than capable. And I can imagine him in a Liverpool kit, doing what he does with Arsenal, if not better, and just fitting in seamlessly.”

Arsenal have several prospects with world-class potential. Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are amongst those who have been vital to their fortunes this season.
Arteta’s men look set to keep moving forward for the foreseeable future. And it seems imperative that they continue to do so.
Players such as Martinelli will want to be competing with the very best in the coming years. And clubs such as Liverpool are hardly likely to go away when it comes to monitoring his development.
Right now, it is hard to see Arsenal selling any of their amazing youngsters. But Liverpool are surely going to keep players such as Martinelli on their radar in case an opportunity presents itself.
