‘Like a brand new player’: Sky Sports pundit says ‘brilliant’ Tottenham man is better than ever
Former England goalkeeper, David James, has said that Tottenham striker Harry Kane is playing like a brand new player for Antonio Conte this season.
Kane has found his form this season after a slow start and scored once again at the weekend as Spurs narrowly lost out to Manchester United at Old Trafford. The England skipper has been dropping deep as he did under Jose Mourinho and it has seen him return to his best.
And according to James, Kane’s form at the moment is giving Conte the equivalent of a new signing at the club.
“When you look at him and the way he works in games, you can see this is a guy who you can see deeply thinks about how to be a better player,” James said live on .
“At the moment I think he’s in the best form I’ve seen him in. Not just the goal ratio but the creativity. He looks like a brand new player.”

Whether or not Kane stays beyond the summer is another discussion. But for the here and now, the England skipper is key for any success Spurs are going to have.
As James says, his goals, assists, and just the fact his overall performance has lifted has given Tottenham a genuine chance of making the top four.
Kane is simply outstanding on his day. And he does seem to be having more and more of those days. Gareth Southgate has ‘brilliant’ Kane is. And it’s easy to see why.
