Darren Bent shares the position he thinks Raheem Sterling could start for Arsenal this season
Raheem Sterling was Arsenal’s big deadline signing this summer, with the winger joining from Chelsea on loan.
With the England international previously playing under Mikel Arteta at Manchester City and Arsenal now having a reputation of sorts of transforming players from damaged goods into superstars in the Premier League, the deal has been well received by many.
With Sterling excited to get to work under Arteta, there’s a real chance that the attacker could be the missing piece of the puzzle for the Gunners this season in their bid to finally beat City to the Premier League title.
And Darren Bent has now shared which position he thinks Sterling could play for Arsenal.

Sterling tipped to take Arsenal’s left-wing position
Speaking on , the pundit made the claim that Sterling could take the left-wing position once the forward is back to his best and pushing for a starting XI spot at Arsenal this season.
With Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard sharing the position in the past 12 months, Sterling trying to claim the role for his own will be an interesting development if the England international can manage just that.
And for Bent, Sterling has everything in his locked to become a guaranteed starter for Arsenal, with the 29-year-old this season looking to prove that he is still one of the best in the Premier League.
Bent said when asked where Sterling could start: “Sterling will start if he is the best he can be. On the left. If he is at his absolute best, of course, he starts. When he is at it, he takes some stopping, by the way.”

Sterling taking Arsenal’s left-wing position could be massive
The left-wing has been something of a problem area for Arsenal since the departure of Granit Xhaka and the chopping and changing of the left-back position, with Arteta yet to really crack the code on who should play down this side.
Yet if Sterling ends up being the perfect match for the position, this potential development could be huge for Arsenal, who could have a completed attack for the first time in years with the England star out on the left.
With Bukayo Saka making the right-wing position his own, a new wide-attacking duo could form with Sterling out on the left, with the 29-year-old intent on making this Arsenal loan spell work this season.
