Darren Bent says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a 9/10 signing when he was Manchester United boss
Darren Bent has claimed that Bruno Fernandes has been a 9/10 signing for Manchester United.
The Red Devils haven’t had a great season. They are out of the Champions League and are already eight points below fourth in the Premier League table. Fernandes has come under a fair bit of criticism this term, but Bent believes he’s the best big-money signing Manchester United have made in years.

Darren Bent says Bruno Fernandes is a 9/10 signing for Manchester United
Recruitment is one of the most difficult parts of running a football club, and Manchester United have made a lot of mistakes in that department over the years.
The Red Devils have wasted plenty of money on players who have not been good enough.
Club-record signing Paul Pogba failed to live up to expectations, while Antony, who is United’s second-most expensive signing, has been a disaster.
When you look at Manchester United’s 10 most expensive signings, you can argue that nine of them have failed to provide a good return on their investment.
The one exception, however, is Bruno Fernandes, who joined the club in 2020, when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was at the helm. Darren Bent has given the Portugal international a 9/10 rating.
The pundit said on : “Bruno Fernandes, nine (on 10)!
“It’s 71 goals and 61 assists. What more can he do? And he’s a midfielder.”

Bruno Fernandes needs to step up
As Darren Bent mentioned above, Bruno Fernandes has scored 71 goals and provided 61 assists for Manchester United since joining them in 2020.
That is an excellent return for a midfielder, but Fernandes hasn’t really been at his best this season, has he? Yes, he has scored seven goals and provided seven assists, but he can surely do better.
The Portugal international has come under a ton of criticism for some of his performances and antics on the pitch. He has annoyed a number of fans and pundits.
Manchester United’s hopes of Champions League qualification aren’t completely dead yet. They still have a chance, but if they are to achieve that, Fernandes needs to step and lead his side like a real captain does.
