Darren Bent says Chelsea have made a ‘bargain’ signing who’s better than Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez
Darren Bent has claimed that Cole Palmer has been a better signing for Chelsea than both Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.
The Blues have spent an absolute fortune on new players over the last two years, but not many have been successful signings. Palmer, however, has arguably been Chelsea‘s best one yet.

Darren Bent says Cole Palmer has been a bargain for Chelsea
Chelsea’s recruitment has mostly been terrible over the last few windows.
Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez are their two biggest signings, costing over £100 million each. A lot was expected of both of them, but they haven’t been great at all.
Fernandez has been at Stamford Bridge for over a year now. He has shown flashes of his brilliance, but we haven’t seen anything to suggest that he’s worth the money Chelsea paid for him.
Caicedo falls into the same category too. The Ecuador international was amazing at Brighton, but he hasn’t been able to live up to the hype just yet.
One player who has been worth every penny, however, is Cole Palmer. The Englishman joined the Blues for an initial £40 million from Manchester City (), and he has been their best player this season.
While speaking about Chelsea’s midfield, Bent claimed that Palmer has been better than both Fernandez and Caicedo despite costing less than half of what each of the other two did.
The pundit said on : “See that’s a bargain, that. He has been better than them (Caicedo and Fernandez).
“Cole Palmer, probably out them three, he can go ‘Do you know what? I’ve done everything I can’.”

Palmer is Chelsea’s best player
When you look at the money they’ve spent, Chelsea should be fighting for the biggest trophies in the world. However, they are currently 11th in the Premier League table.
That’s because most of their signings have failed to deliver, but Palmer is an exception because he has been outstanding this season.
The 21-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists for Chelsea since he joined them in the summer. He is the one who is coming up with the goods for the Blues, and without him, they would probably be lower in the table.
As much praise as Palmer deserves, it has to be said that most of his teammates need to start delivering. If they don’t, Chelsea will have to accept being called a mid-table side.
