Darren Bent says Arsenal have another player who will debut for England before Ethan Nwaneri
Arsenal have a rich history of bringing through players who will eventually get England caps.
Bukayo Saka is a bona fide star for England, while Eddie Nketiah and Em🉐ile Smith Rowe also earned caps during their times at the Emirates.
Now, Arsenal appear to have anoth🍌er future England star in their midst.
Indeed, Ethan Nwaneri has earned huge praise as of late, and it’s surely just a matter of time before th💙is young man plays a part for Thomas Tuchel.
However, according to Darren Bent, speaking on Inside Gooners, Arsenal have another player who could make his England debut before Nwaneri – Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Lewis-Skelly h✨as received plenty of acclaim this season, and Bent believes he could be an England🍨 international before too long.

Myles Lewis-Skelly to get England cap before Ethan Nwaneri
Bent shared his verdict on the two Arsenal stars.
The pundit reckons both♓ players will be England internationals before too long, but he thinks Lewis-Skelly’s chance will come before Nwaneri’s.
“Do you know what’s funny, ♉you compare Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri to Saka in the way they use their bodies. Joe Cole compared them to Messi, that is some praise,” Bent said.
“The obvious question will come about the two of them. For both of them, England will become a real possibility. I genuinely believe that Lewis-Skelly’s England shot will come before Nwan♏eri’s. That’s simply꧃ because of what England have in that position at left-back, I don’t see who holds onto that spot at left-back.”
Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly’s route into the England team
Bent says that Lewis-Skelly may get an England camp before Nwaneri, and he may not be wr💟ong.
Indeed, while Nwaneri is just as talented as Lewis-Skelly, the compositio🧜n of the current England squad means that Lewis-Skelly has a better chance of getting in.
The reality is that there isn’t much ♚quality at left-back right now, while there’s tons of attacking midfield/right wingers who could block Nwaneri’s path.
Myles Lewis-Skelly’s England competition | Ethan Nwaneri’s England competition |
---|---|
Cole Palmer | |
Ben Chilwell | Phil Foden |
Lewis Hall | Bukayo Saka |
Tyrick Mitchell | Noni Madueke |
Rico Lewis | Jarrod Bowen |
Morgan Rogers | |
Morgan Gibbs-White |
There’s an argument to make that Lewis-Skelly has been the best of the bunch at left-back this season, despite the fact Lewis Hall has impressed at Newcastle.
Meanwhile, as good as Nwaneri has been, the likes of Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka, Morgan Gibbs-White, Morgan Rogers, Noni Madueke and Jarrod Bowen all ♌have strong claims to stake.
Nwaneri’s time will come, make no mistake about it, but it may be a year or two down the line, while Le☂wis-Skelly is genuinely a contender for the next squad.
